Alyson Hanniganis revealing her thoughts after making it into theDancing with the Starsfinale.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on Tuesday at week 10’sDWTSsemifinals, the actress revealed her surprise when she and dance partnerSasha Farberwere announced ashaving made it to the finals.
“I thoughtAlfonso [Ribeiro]made a mistake,” Hannigan, 49, tells PEOPLE of the show’s co-host. “I thought he meant to sayAriana [Madix]and he said my name first and I just was waiting for him to correct himself and then I couldn’t believe it."
“I was totally shocked,” she adds.

“That’s every show day,” says Farber, 39.
Tuesday night saw co-hosts Ribeiro, 52, andJulianne Houghannounce that all couples in the semifinals had made it into the season finale, includingVanderpump Rulesstar Madix, 38, andPasha Pashkov, plus Marvel actressXochitl GomezandVal Chmerkovskiy.
Rounding out the final five areBachelorettestarCharity LawsonandArtem Chigvintsev, as well as singerJason MrazandDaniella Karagach.

Meanwhile, Hannigan and Farber scored 26/30 following their waltz toNorah Jones’ 2002 hit"Come Away with Me."
“I have learned so much,” Hannigan tells PEOPLE of herDWTSjourney. “I’ve learned that I am capable of doing things that I’ve told myself my whole life that I’m not capable of doing, and to really just go in with a positive attitude and try and work hard.”

TheBuffy the Vampire Slayeractress adds that she feels like she’s already won thanks to all “the support that I’ve had from all the people,” and the fact that she gets to perform in the season finale.
