Cardi Bmade a big gaffe after her big night at theGrammys.

“Thank you Tom Petty for the flowers,” Cardi mused in asince-deleted Instagram Storypost, seemingly not realizing that Pettydiedof an accidental drug overdose in 2017.

“I left the room but the flowers were very big. I want to say thank you so much,” she continued, before thanking Petty for the “beautiful note” he included with the flowers.

The note — which read “You’ve got a big heart. So big it could crush this town” — are lyrics from the singer’s 1996 song, “Walls (Circus).” The confusion seemed to stem from the fact that the quote was attributed to Petty, whose name was printed on the bottom of the message.

“Motherf— love me, bro!” Cardi exclaimed at the conclusion of the video.

“Who’s going to tell @iamcardib that Tom Petty is dead… “wroteone social media user, while another joked, “tom pettywrote walls about cardi bwe just didn’t know it then.”

Hypothesizing about who the flowers could have come from, one fan suggested thatNicki Minaj— whom Cardi hasfeuded with in the past— was responsible.

“Did Nicki Minaj do this to sabotage Cardi B?” they wrote, including a crying with laughter emoji. “Petty Level: Tom Petty.”

Others believed the flowers could have come fromChris Brown, who has recently beentrading insultswith Cardi’s husbandOffset.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, over the weekend, Brown posted a since-deleted Instagram caption that appeared to suggest hewanted to send flowersto Cardi.

“Ima send ya girl flowers so she know I respect her,” Brown wrote.
