Late last week , a drop prostration extinguishedthedramatic lava flowstreaming out of Hawaii ’s Kilauea volcano . We have some good intelligence to describe , however : It ’s back ! Some incredible new footage of the hellish gusher shows it ’s active and well .
After the cliff break up on February 2nd , the satanic waterfall priming coat to a halt , but magma from the Kilauea volcano was still leak into the ocean from below . On February 4th , a local tour company chat the site thinking the lava flow had stop . Much to the delight of everyone onboard , the molten gusher had returned in full force .
“ Guests were surprised to see the lava flak hose lava still alive , ” notedKalapana Cultural Tourson its Facebook page . video and video taken by the holidaymaker party showed the lava flow once again pouring from the cliffside .

On Sunday , the US Geological Survey ’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatoryupdated its status report accordingly :
HVO scientists keep an eye on that a 30 m by 5 m ( 98 ft by 16 ft ) helping of the block seaward of the blistering whirl REMAINED AFTER THE 12:55 p.m. flop on Feb. 2 . A importantly larger chunk come down into the sea generating a detectable , but not unco heavy , wave broadcast outwards from the rockfall locating . The proportion of the collapsed block have not yet been documented .
The lava flow , name 61 g , has captured the tending of geologist and much of the humans since it first appear late last month . HVO scientists say the alone gusher poses “ no threat to nearby communities at this time , ” but caution that visitor should keep their distance , both in the area where the lava meets the sea and on the landed estate nearby .

“ Venturing too close to an ocean incoming on kingdom or the sea give away you to flying junk make by the explosive interaction between lava and water , ” admonish the scientist . “ Also , the young land created is fluid because it is built on unconsolidated lava fragment and sand . This loose material can easily be erode forth by surf , causing the new land to become unsupported and slide into the sea . ”
In addition , the HVO warns that the interaction of lava with the ocean creates “ a corrosive seawater plume laden with hydrochloric dose ” and “ ok volcanic particles that can annoy the peel , eyes , and lungs . ”
It ’s a beautiful spectacle , but it ’s as dangerous as it looks .
