This weekend Maleficent made a boatload of cash , and that bums me out — because this was n’t the Maleficent I wanted . And it certainly was n’t the Maleficent we all merit . Here ’s why I ’m piddle at what Disney did to the big and baddest villain around . Warning , spoilers .
Maleficent was n’t all unsound . Our reviewpraised Angelina Jolie ’s brilliant performance and her gorgeous Rick Baker horn . Maleficent Was Truly Brilliant In Her Heartlessness

Meaningless Curse
I ’ll be real : The original movie offers zero explanation for why Aurora would meet the piercing end of a spinning roulette wheel and fall asleep . Were they all really into spin wheels at some breaker point ? Is that a metaphor for adult female being perpetually assault by little pricks all the fourth dimension ? Who know ? But finding out that the grounds Maleficent curse Aurora with a spinning wheel was because it was TO THE LEFT of the King was dissatisfactory to say the least .
