From the moment Kendall Jenner first set foot on the runway and in front of the cameras just a few short years ago, she’s faced an enormous amount of success and adversity — one daywalking the biggest fashion shows on the planet, and the next contending with being referred (alongsideBFF Gigi Hadid)as “b—-s of the moment“. But any doubts about her supermodel bona fides can officially be put to rest, because she’s achieved the Holy Grail of all modeling assignments: the September cover ofVogue.
For the fashion magazine’s biggest issue of the year, they naturally decided to go with a model they’ve championed from the very beginning; over the years they’ve given Kendall numerous spreads inside their pages as well as a special limited-edition cover back in June.

Despite being a social media space alien, Kendall opened up inside the magazine’s pages, touching on her meteoric rise to fame and how she differs from her sisters, saying “I’ve always been super different from all my sisters, especially my Kardashian sisters. They’ve always been into the glam thing and dressing up every day and being in the thick of it. Part of me loves that, but at the same time, I love dressing down and having my private life.”

She also touched on her emotional first accidental run-in with her parentCaitlyn Jenner(whom Kendall knew as Bruce for most of her life), telling Van Meter: “My whole life we would, like, catch her and we would be like, What is going on here? I think we know, butdowe? At one point, Kylie and I thought he was cheating on my mom, because he had makeup and nail polish. One time we found those squishy boob things. We found wigs. And then one time I actually ran into her.In this house.She had no idea.”
And it seems Jenner is almost there, checking one more box off her supermodel in the making checklist. Now that she’s got (deep breath) the cover of pretty much every major national and international fashion magazine, too many campaigns to count, a turn on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk, and now theVogueSeptember issue cover all firmly under her belt, what modeling milestone could the reality-turned-catwalk star possibly aspire to next? Her own monographwith Gigi(who modeled for the mag’s cover in August!) can’t be too far off. Hey, ifKim can have one, why can’t KenGi?
