Lenny Kravitzis giving fans a sneak peek at what they can expect from his upcoming album.
The four-time Grammy winner and actor, 59, teased his 12th studio album,Blue Electric Light, while speaking to Laverne Cox for theE! Live from the Red Carpetpreshow at Sunday’s 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
“It’s kind of like the record I didn’t make in high school before I made my first album,Let Love Rule,” Kravitz said. “So it’s really fun.”
Speaking about why a record wasn’t made during that moment in his life, Kravitz said that it was because he “never got a record deal.”
“I didn’t get my record deal until I was 23,” Kravitz said. “So I had left that sort of vibe and moved on and this is a little step in that direction. It’s nice to celebrate that time.”

The Recording Academy’swebsitesays the “Global Impact Award is a CEO Merit Award that recognizes Black music creators whose dedication to the art form has greatly influenced the industry.”
“It’s sort of amazing to me that I could be where I am now and feel fresh and hungry," he said.
When asked what the best part is about being a bona fide rock star he replied, “This is who God created me to be. I’m just trying to walk in that destiny.”
