The father-daughter duo are only a couple of the several musicians who will be featured on the upcoming cover albumLight in the Attic & Friends, which is set for release on Nov. 24 for Record Store Day / Black Friday.
The album’s first release was Ethan and Maya’s rendition of Nelson’s “We Don’t Run,” which was featured on Nelson’s 1996 albumSpirit.
Ethan, 52,shared the news on Instagram, writing that the song has been a “mainstay” in their home since it was released.

Nelson, 90, commented on the post and wrote, “This song is yours now ❤️.”
On the track, Maya, 25 — who makes music on her own — and Ethan take turns on each verse before coming together for the peaceful chorus.
More stars expected on the album are Mac Demarco, Iggy Pop and Angel Olsen. The album is meant to spotlight “the most unique — and often forgotten — voices in music,” perBillboard.
As for Nelson, he recently headlined Farm Aid 2023 at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. He was also announced as a performer for Stagecoach Festival 2024.

Earlier this year, he spoke to PEOPLE ahead of his 90th birthday, which he celebrated with a show at the Hollywood Bowl.
“I never thought I’d get here,” Nelson told PEOPLE ahead of the festivities, which drew an estimated 18,000 fans each night.
Still, in signature Nelson fashion, he waved off the fuss over his milestone birthday: “This ain’t nothing. It’s another day.”
