Gracing the cover ofAARP The Magazine’s February/March 2024 issue, theKillers of the Flower Moonactor opened up to the publication about becoming a dad again to now 9-month-old daughterGia, his first child with girlfriendTiffany Chen.
“It feels great,” said De Niro, 80, who wasrecently named a nomineein the Best Supporting Actor category at the upcomingAcademy Awards, for his role in theMartin ScorseseWestern epic.
The Hollywood legend continued of his youngest child, tearing up, “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about justgoes away when I look at her. It’s wondrous.”
“When she gets older — who knows? But that very sweet way she has of looking at you, taking you in, thinking and watching and observing … " De Niro added, getting teary-eyed.

On the red carpet at the New York City premiere of his filmAbout My Father, De Niro spoke toExtraabout welcoming another child at the age of 79.
“I’m okay with it.I’m good with it,” he said, adding that raising children “never gets easier” no matter what age you are.

De Niro has been a fixture during this year’s awards season thus far, and is nominated alongside hisKillerscostarLily Gladstoneat the upcoming Academy Awards. Gladstone, 37, is in the running for Best Actress, along withAnnette Bening(Nyad),Sandra Hüller(Anatomy of a Fall),Carey Mulligan(Maestro) andEmma Stone(Poor Things).
Meanwhile, De Niro is facing off againstSterling K. Brown(American Fiction),Robert Downey Jr.(Oppenheimer),Ryan Gosling(Barbie),Mark Ruffalo(Poor Things) for Best Supporting Actor.
Along with a Best Picture nod,Killersalso nabbed Scorsese, 81, his10th Best Director nomination. He will be competing withJustine Triet(Anatomy of a Fall),Christopher Nolan(Oppenheimer),Yorgos Lanthimos(Poor Things) andJonathan Glazer(The Zone of Interest).
“I like to just let things happen,” he added.
