Killers of the Flower Moontells the real-life story of the Reign of Terror, a series of brutal murders of members of the Osage Nation, who were the richest people per capita in the world in the 1920s. The picture is also based on David Grann’s 2017 non-fictionbook of the same name.
“In reality, it wasn’t a matter of who did it. I wanted to show who didn’t do it,” Scorsese said during the press conference. In contrast to the book the film was based on, he opted to take a different route to prevent the movie from playing like a typical murder-mystery.
